Small eco friendly sustainable journal that is created with plantable flower seed paper. This is a fun little journal or notebook that can be written in and planted in the ground or a pot to grow flowers!

Every part of this little journal is biodegradable. The pages and cover are made from lokta paper which is made from the Daphne bush,  combined with recycled paper scraps. It is embedded with an assortment of flower seeds. The journal is tied together with biodegradable hemp cord. The flower design on the front are actual dried flowers which were grown in my yard. The flowers are covered with a very small piece of biodegradable acetate. The tiny bit of glue that was used to attach the flowers is biodegradable glue.

This is a unique journal that can be used as a gift or used to write down notes or your favorite hopes and dreams. One fun use would be to write down wedding vows then planted in a special place to watch the flowers grow. There are so many uses for this fun eco friendly journal!

The journal is small and very lightweight. It consists of the cover and back page along with 10 inside pages (20 sides front and back) for writing. Each journal is unique an may look a little different than the photos but it will be the same style and have the same type of flowers. Suggested pens are pens that don't bleed such as Micron, Uni waterproof pens, Sharpie Gel Pens or any similar style pens. The measurements are approximately the same ad an A2 greeting card, 4.25 x 5.5 inches. It comes in a biodegradable sleeve.

I fell in love with the flower seed paper when I first saw it and knew I wanted to use it in my crafts.

The back of the journal has planting instructions so you or the recipient will know how to plant it. I suggest taking the journal apart for planting so that too many seeds aren't in one spot. The cord, flowers and acetate can be planted with the papers or added to your compost pile.

The pages are printed on lightweight lokta paper which is made from the Daphne bush, plant combined with recycled paper scraps. It is embedded with an assortment of flower seeds. The paper is not as stiff or as heavy as regular cardstock paper. There are variations with each piece so each card is unique. I print the cards on my home printer and hand cut them so there are many imperfections and demonstrate that handmade characteristic.

The last picture shows examples of some of the flower seeds in the paper. These are not actual pictures of flowers grown from the paper. They are just show for effect. I cannot guarantee any growth of flowers because there are variations in climate, care etc.

Flower seeds embedded in the paper are: Petunia, Daisy, Thyme, Poppy, Snapdragon, Beardtongue, Maiden Pinks, Chamomile and Catchfly. Seeds need four hours of direct sunlight and should be watered daily until established. Can be planted in pots or directly in the ground.
