Ingredients

All of the products we use in our soaps are raw whenever possible and sustainably sourced. This list is a sample of some of the products we use in our soaps.

pure milk as ingredient in handmade soap

We all know that milk is loaded with vitamins and minerals. The other things I love about adding milk to soap (whether it's cow's milk or goat's milk) is that it adds a smoothness and creaminess that you can't get from any other ingredient. I love to add a little milk to all of my soaps!

honey to be used in handmade cold processed soap

God made some amazing creatures when He made bees! Bees pollinate our crops and give us several amazing products. One of those products is definitely honey! Two reasons I like to add a little honey to the soaps I make is it is a natural humectant (it attracts and retains moisture) and it helps increase lather.

olive oil is the number one ingredient in our handmade soap.

Olive oil is a nutrient packed oil that is rich in healthy fats and antioxidants. While cleansing the skin, it also helps to lock in moisture. We use high quality olive oil in all of our soaps.

coconut oil used in cold processed soap

Aside from the wonderful natural, yet subtle aroma of coconut oil, the benefits it adds to a bar of soap cannot be overlooked. Two of my favorite qualities are that it helps create a bubbly lather and it is a wonderful moisturizer that is easily absorbed into the skin.

sustainable palm oil

There is a lot of controversy surrounding palm oil. I decided to use it in some of my soaps because of the qualities it brings to a bar of soap. Palm oil helps to stabilize lather and helps to create a hard bar of soap. I source my palm oil from sustainable sourced suppliers. They assure us that the habitat where the palm trees grow is not being destroyed, the workers are being treated fairly, and have reduced the use of pesticides.

castor oil plant and seeds for soap

Castor oil comes from the castor bean plant. It helps to create luxurious bubbles in soap so I like to use a small quantity in each batch.

almond oil soap ingredient benefits

Sweet almond oil is high in vitamins A and E. It adds a mildness to soap and helps to create a good lather. It is also mild to the skin. I include a small amount in my soap batches and sugar scrubs.

shea butter benefits in soap making

Shea butter comes from the nut of the African shea tree. It is well known for its great moisturizing abilities. It adds a creaminess to a bar of soap. I like to add a little shea butter to my soap for the qualities it brings.
